3 Orgasmic Yoga Practices For Deeper Pleasure

Imagine your body as an instrument. To play your instrument well you’ll need to practice, spending hours honing your skill and techniques.

Orgasmic yoga is somewhat trendy, popping up in news articles and in yoga studios primarily in the United States. Trendiness is a complicated concept; sometimes, it waters down the original intent of a practice. But we’ve gathered a few orgasmic yoga ideas that honor both traditional and sensual practices.

What Is Tantric Yoga?

When talking about orgasmic yoga, you might commonly hear about tantra, or tantric yoga. Tantric yoga is more than just sex; it’s a way of life, like many yoga practices. Tantra encourages using your own energy to forge a deeper connection, and some tantra is practiced solo. Other tantra is practiced with a partner.

The two parts are inextricable, and tantra teaches that you can’t bring to your partner what you haven’t practiced on your own. So we’ll be including solo and partnered practices for you to try.

Invoking The Divine Feminine

Before you begin practicing postures designed to deepen orgasms, you may want to start by invoking an energy known as the Divine Feminine. The Divine Feminine, also known as Shakti, or the embodiment of feminine energy in the universe, has many names and forms, all invoked in different ways. This is usually done through chants or songs.

Maybe it sounds a little woo-woo for you, but honoring Shakti or the Divine Feminine is a traditional practice thousands of years old. If you’re not accustomed to meditation or invocation practice, you may prefer to begin thinking of this as a mindfulness technique instead.

Begin by sitting in a comfortable seated position and bring attention to your breathing.

Begin chanting the following Shakti mantra:

Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo Namo Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo

This chant means:

I bow to (or call on) the primal power. I bow to (or call on) the all encompassing power and energy. I bow to (or call on) that through which God creates. I bow to (or call on) the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.

This mantra invokes the Creative Goddess inside each of us, and you don’t need to be a woman or person with a vagina to access this nurturing energy.

Yoga Poses For Deeper Orgasms

When you’re ready to move on, try practicing a yoga flow designed to increase intimacy, strengthen your pelvic muscles, and invite deeper orgasms.

Yoga helps you get in touch with your breath and body, and over time can help make difficult sex positions easier. The stronger you are, the easier sex is!

Yoga also increases flexibility and playfulness, encouraging you to try new positions and keep things spicy.

Downward Dog

Downward Dog relieves stress, stretching your muscles and increasing oxygen flow. Try pedaling your feet for an extra stretch, and keep your arms in line with your ears.

Eagle Pose

Eagle pose is a strong balancing pose that will boost your confidence and push your limits. Remember, strength is the key to a solid balance pose, so stand strong in your rooted leg.

Happy Baby

Happy baby is a great hip opener and can help relax and align the spine. Feel free to rock side to side to further massage the back.

Goddess Pose

The perfect pose for any yoga flow, this pose embodies Shakti and will leave you assured of your own power. When you practice Goddess Pose you bring forth the victorious and nurturing energy of the goddess!

Sex Positions That Double As Yoga Poses

Sensual, spiritual sex is possible and can really get a head-start with these yoga-centric sex positions. Try them out with a partner, and feel free to bring along toys or other helpers, like lubricants or yoga blocks, which can help make intense stretches more accessible.

You can also experiment by using yoga poses during masturbation, which we highly recommend!

Wide-Legged Forward Bend

The wide-legged forward bend is a variation of a forward fold. Begin with feet more than hip distance apart and grab your ankles or shins. This allows rear entry in a way that can massage your front vaginal wall, where the G-spot is located.

Downward-Facing Dog
